We don’t just make chairs.

We create objects that carry meaning, designed for the moments and spaces that matter

Kvarter was founded by three trailblazing individuals who took an oblique approach to furniture. Surrounded by work of Finland’s best designers and students at Aalto University, we noticed that modern furniture has lost the roots of great design and ethical manufacturing. Naturally, we could not ignore that retail furniture lack excitement. They may hold your weight, but not your values. We knew it would be possible to push the industry and do better.

We spent years on learning about the design and manufacturing of furniture. Then we built, tested, adjusted, and built again, and again (and again), until everything made sense and met our expectations. Now, we take responsibility for every piece we make, how it feels, how it ages, and whether it deserves a place in someone’s home. Combining creative design methods with modern manufacturing capabilities, we only deliver pieces that are truly special.

Thoughtfully crafted in Finland

Every piece is designed and assembled by hand in Turku and Helsinki. We obsess over every detail: from the curve of a seam to the feel of the fabric. Our work isn’t rushed. It’s intentional. This is not mass production. This is design with soul.

Made to live beautifully. Made to last

We believe that great design isn’t just seen, it’s felt. It ages with you, adapts to you, and becomes part of your everyday rhythm. That’s why each Kvarter chair is built to last in both form and function—an enduring presence in your space.

A quiet stand against disposable culture

We choose materials with care, favor recycled wherever possible, and design only what deserves to exist. Our collections are small, purposeful, and built to create trends, not to follow them.
